Research Summit highlights public interaction with scientists at the Williston area’s three research labs

One of the most common questions plant pathologist Audrey Kalil heard last year was also one she couldn’t answer definitively.
The question was: What are the risks with planting seed contaminated with vomitoxin?
Kalil had some educated guesses at the time, but no studies had been done specifically answering that. So Kalil designed her own study, and was able to share a more conclusive answer at a Research Summit this week by the area’s three agricultural research institutions, Williston Research Extension Center, Eastern Agricultural Research Center and the Sidney USDA-ARS unit.
