Special session talk hovers over Montana Capitol, GOP says not close on deal

I was told recently by a source who heard it from another source that the special session to deal with the state’s $227 million budget deficit and depleted fire fund will likely be in mid-November.

That was reinforced by State Budget Director Dan Villa who said Wednesday there was hope to have the issue resolved by Thanksgiving, which is Nov. 23.
