Steve Running will return to University of Montana on grant
November 2, 2017 /
Steve Running, who accepted a retirement buyout this summer from the University of Montana, plans to return to campus in January on a NASA grant.
"I probably won’t draw any salary from it," Running said Wednesday. "I’ll continue to work, but I’m on state pension now."
Running is a lauded climate scientist who shared in a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and he said he won’t return to UM until after five months following his July 17 retirement, in order to meet federal guidelines.
