Collaboration, support keying growth for Bozeman area women-owned businesses

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

As of last count, Montana was home to more than 37,000 women-owned businesses, which combined contribute roughly $4.7 billion in sales to the state’s economy, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. A new women-owned venture opens in the Big Sky state every day.

"I’ve been really impressed by Bozeman’s support for small businesses, especially for women starting small businesses," McDonnell says. "And that’s not something that will stop."
