MSU researchers receive $1.8 million to study methane-converting microbes in Yellowstone National Park

Montana State University researchers have received $1.8 million from the National Science Foundation for a project to study methane-consuming microbes and develop ways of using them to make commercial products such as plastics.
The NSF awarded a total of $6 million in August to the research team, which includes collaborators at MSU, the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and the University of Oklahoma.
