Ravalli County bumps up pay in search for health nurse
Director of Public Health Angie Spooner is desperately seeking to fill a vacant nursing position, and hopes that a boost in pay might attract more candidates.
Spooner told Ravalli County Commissioners Tuesday that she hasn’t had any applicants while advertising the position at $23.86 for the past eight months, and they agreed that she can raise the rate to $27.50. Spooner, who is a registered nurse hired by the county in January, said other area clinics are paying starting wages of $30 per hour or more for nurses.
