From neighbors to advocates: Save Bozeman’s growth
Seven years ago, Charlie West could look out the window of his toy shop in downtown Bozeman toward a small store. Today, catty-cornered from West’s business is a five-story hotel.
"I feel like there’s a pretty big change going on in downtown. It’s happening fast," he said.
Last summer, West started hearing about more development coming to the downtown area. That included a five-story building two blocks from his home known as the Black-Olive proposal.
"Change and growth is where people start to feel that heat — the impact on what their life is going to be," Christensen said. "And typically, it’s after the city’s process to respond has already begun."
