Lifelines in Lincoln, Montana: Hard-working town seeks new ways to make a living

A recent economic development study by Headwaters Economics took a hard look at Lincoln’s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln,_Montana assets and liabilities with an eye toward forging a survival plan. The challenges included an aging population, overworked volunteer force, unpredictable snowfall hurting its snowmobile season, little hope for turnaround in the logging or mining industries, and a highway that shoots potential visitors straight through town without giving them a reason to stop.
