Gaps in complaint process make it unclear how public can flag ethics violations by Montana legislators

From the Ethics in the Montana Legislature http://billingsgazette.com/ethics-in-the-montana-legislature/collection_9f5ff092-1581-5cd3-9450-861d63eb6aae.html series

In 1993, Montana legislators created a hotline for the public to report "waste, fraud and abuse" in state government.

The website lists information on how to file complaints about Montana employees, statewide elected officials, attorneys, bankers, nonprofits, child abuse, contractors, discrimination, elder abuse, foreign lotteries, gas pump accuracy, health care professionals, highway patrol, insurance companies, judges, utilities, public assistance programs, pay disputes, water wells, wildlife and workers compensation.

But want to file an ethics complaint against a legislator?

You won’t find directions anywhere on MT.gov.
