Three local entrepreneurial teams win Casper Start-up Challenge

Lots of people have ideas for businesses they want to start. But among other responsibilities — kids, full-time jobs or the pursuit of higher education — those ideas often fall by the wayside.

However, that wasn’t the case for the three teams who won the second annual Casper Start-Up Challenge last week.

Almost 40 groups submitted their ideas to the competition in the spring. Of those applicants, 10 were selected as semifinalists who received coaching from the center’s staff. Those groups then pitched their ideas to a panel of judges who selected a group of five, who competed at Pitch Day on Wednesday for the three final spots.
