ikuw Solutions Opening Boise, ID office

ikuw Solutions is expanding their presence and establishing an office in Boise, ID. The expansion is to provide employers in one of the Northwest’s largest tech hubs access to the graduates of the Apprentice Hive Code School.

"We started the Apprentice Hive with the goal of providing employers with high quality entry level technologists and the Boise market is an excellent market for our graduates", said ikuw’s Chief Learning Officer, Leeanne McManus.

The Apprentice Hive Code School is a 9 week program that teaches the fundamentals of web development, software development, database development and agile product delivery. The 9 week program culminates in a final project that immerses the students in a real project environment where they can apply the skills they have learned. The program is delivered entirely online to provide maximum flexibility for the students.

After the initial training, ikuw works with its corporate recruiting partner to place the graduates into entry level positions and get them into the real learning environment, on the job training. McManus elaborated by saying, "We believe that the best way to learn is on the job training, so an accelerated boot camp like the Apprentice Hive meets the growing workforce needs of employers as well as developing the skills employees need to work in a 21st century knowledge economy".

After job placement, ikuw provides 12 months of ongoing coaching and mentoring through its cloud-based mentoring platform. "We look at the long term success of both our graduates and our employer partners. Our mentoring and coaching is meant to minimize the impact of on-boarding our graduates by providing a first line of support so that current employees are minimally impacted by the onboarding of new talent", McManus continued.
