State tax shift to cost Bozeman taxpayers $1.4 million

Bozeman School Board trustees asked the 2017 Legislature for property tax relief. They got the opposite.
In the next two years, Bozeman taxpayers will see their school property taxes increase by $1.4 million, under a law that helped legislators balance the state budget while telling voters they didn’t raise taxes — at least, not permanently.
