Emerging from a program established 30 years ago in Littleton, Colorado, economic gardening has taken root as a powerful approach to support local economic development. Economic gardening focuses on "second stage" companies–those that are beyond the start-up phase–providing them tools and information to help reach new customers or expand into new markets.

The Place Value Webinar Series
The Place Value Economy webinar series is a four-part exploration of key findings from Community Builders’ Place Value study.
Place Value comes at a time when many communities are seeking a fresh approach to economic development and are working to develop strategies that respond to changing market and fiscal realities. The study explores the ways communities are attracting people and businesses in the American West using new approaches to economic development.
Drawing on the perspectives of business owners and community members, Place Value aims to clarify the role of different community attributes – from taxes and zoning to quality of life and cost of living–that build and support resilient local economics.
This webinar series will focus on the following topics:
The role of outdoor recreation in creating great places
Growing economies with economic gardening
Placemaking through targeted public investment
Creating systems and spaces for local entrepreneurship – Makers, co-working, and incubator spaces
Stay tuned for dates & times of these upcoming webinars!
