Browning, Montana students already on great trip, then Michelle Obama walks in …

Nine students from Browning High School were already on the trip of a lifetime. Then, former first lady Michelle Obama walked into the room.

Students from Browning’s Human Rights Club spent a week in the nation’s capital as part of a cultural exchange experience with the students of the Sidwell Friends School, a nonprofit Quaker school with a tuition of more than $40,000. Sasha Obama, former President Barack Obama’s 15-year-old daughter, attends the school.

While the students gave presentations on Native culture to some of the younger students at Sidwell, they were quickly rushed out of the room and down the hall. They gathered in a conference room.

Unbeknownst to them, Michelle was on campus for a meeting with Sasha’s counselor. Bryan Garman, head of Sidwell, told Michelle about the Browning students and asked if she would come meet with them.
