Proposed Workshop for Small Business Innovative Research Grant – Ravalli County Economic Development Authority

If you are interested, please respond by this Thursday March 23rd by 4:00 PM

Small Business Innovative Research Grant (SBIR)

Lindsey Hagmaier is with the Montana Technology Innovation Partnership (MTIP) Program, a Department of Commerce initiative, created to support technology-based economic development for the state.

MTIP provides no-cost assistance to entrepreneurs, university researchers, small business, and innovators. Primarily they assist small business, or university-connected small business spin-offs, with the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant program.

This grant provides $2.5 billion per year in research and development funding, with an emphasize on commercialization for small businesses in the tech-based world. This grant brings about $10 million per year into Montana for small business research and development projects.

MTIP offers proposal development assistance, including intellectual property support, licensing, and commercialization planning.

MTIP is willing to host an informational "Lunch & Learn" event this April if there is sufficient interest. MTIP provide lunch for attendees, followed by a presentation on the SBIR program. MTIP would be able to do this in Hamilton on April 20th. We would likely hold the event at RCEDA.

Please reply to this email by Thursday, March 23 at 4:00 p.m. if you would be interested and able to attend this tentative Lunch & Learn. Thank you.
