Herberger’s starts a new initiative called "Close to Home" in which select stores would begin offering items made by local vendors.

Herberger’s in the Butte Plaza Mall on Harrison Avenue was one among 45 stores to take part in the initiative.

"It helps us achieve our mission of being the best hometown department store," said Hojnacki, adding that the initiative "reflects our commitment to supporting local communities."
