Cash-strapped Legislature considers 8-cent increase to gas tax

Though Republicans and Democrats, the Legislature, and the governor all say something needs to be done about the state’s ailing highway-projects fund, an increase to the gas tax has been seen as a bitter pill most are more comfortable tossing back and forth than swallowing.
