Thank you for this honor – Montana Governor Steve Bullock

Today I was sworn in as Montana’s 24th Governor. I am deeply honored that Montanans have given me the opportunity to serve the state that I love as Governor for another four years. Thank you for entrusting me to lead our state.

I am optimistic that Montana can be a shining example of how the political system is supposed to work. At the end of the day, we all want many of the same things. We want a good-paying job to support our families. We want our sons and daughters to be treated fairly and get a good education. We want to enjoy our public lands. We want to feel and be safe in our communities, and we want a better future for our kids and our grandkids.

Today I also welcomed the members of Montana’s 65th Legislature. As elected officials, we all share an honor and a great undertaking – to expand opportunities for the Montanans who have placed their trust in us. Before any of us are Democrats or Republicans, we are Montanans. And Montanans elected us to serve, not to score political points by putting their best interests aside. I am optimistic we can all work together to fulfill our duties as elected officials and pass a responsible budget that builds on Montana’s fiscal strength and makes investments that will further grow our economy.

I look forward to working together to uphold our Montana values and keep Montana the Last Best Place – for now, and for all future generations of Montanans.

Sincerely,

STEVE BULLOCK

Governor
