Debate over governor’s budget front and center at ’17 session in Montana

Crafting state government’s budget for the next two years is always the Montana Legislature’s top priority, but lawmakers next year will face more even difficult choices because of a major drop-off in state tax collections.

Budget cuts, tax increases and funding switches already are on the table.
