Montana Healthcare Foundation invests $600,000 into improving Native American health

The Montana Healthcare Foundation http://www.mthcf.org/ on Tuesday announced more than a half million dollar investment to address American Indian health challenges involving substance abuse.
The organization said in a press release that more than $600,000 in grants would benefit Native Americans, who are at an elevated risk of heart disease, cancer, and other illnesses.
The median age of death for Native American in Montana is 50, according to state vital statistics, which is about 20 years younger than non-Indian Montanans.
