Missoula tax relief fund to begin collecting donations soon

Missoula City Council members passed a resolution Monday night to create a fund providing city property tax relief for qualified city residents.

Council member Julie Armstrong, who represents Ward 5, said they want to use the tax relief fund to support the most disproportionately affected citizens of Missoula.

That group includes people who are living with disabilities, veterans, and on fixed incomes. The resolution has two goals. One is to increase awareness of tax credits that are already available.
