Replacement of Missoula’s Russell Street bridge lopped off state’s ‘delay’ list
December 11, 2016 /
It looks like replacement of the Russell Street Bridge will move forward as planned next year.
In a bow to safety concerns on Missoula’s last two-lane traffic span over the Clark Fork River, Gov. Steve Bullock’s revised list of delayed 2017 road projects doesn’t include the $20.7 million bridge job.
Mike Tooley, director of the Montana Department of Transportation, said this week the state was putting on hold 30 road projects totaling $144.5 million because the Highway Special Revenue Fund was projected to run out of money by the end of the fiscal year in July.
