Anaconda’s downtown URA ready to fund projects
September 1, 2016 /
Jim Davison, the executive director for the Anaconda Local Development Corporation http://anacondadevelopment.org/ and also the URA’s expectant administrator, said 2016 is the first year the URA will use money it has generated from tax increment financing to fund infrastructure improvements in an area than runs along Park and Commercial avenues.
Simply said, tax increment financing is a system that local governments use to finance projects in an area they have designated as "blighted" and want to target for revitalization.
While the funding systems contains the word "tax," TIF districts do not mean tax increases.
