Yellowstone: ‘For the benefit and enjoyment of the people’

What will inspire Americans in the next century to conserve what conservationist and President Theodore Roosevelt called "the most glorious heritage a people ever received"?

That was the central question to Thursday’s celebration at Gardiner of a century of the National Park Service.

The second century of the parks service began where the first did, where the first rangers drew on the legacy, and uniforms, of the soldiers who initially protected the world’s first national park.
