CenturyLink deploys 1 gigabit fiber service to Missoula’s Polleys Square at Old Sawmill District

Developers Ed and Leslie Wetherbee are very excited about having the opportunity to provide CenturyLink’s High-Speed Internet service up to 1 gigabit to the residents at Polleys Square and all of Old Sawmill District http://oldsawmilldistrict.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Polleys_Square_A_OSD_v3.pdf .

With construction nearing completion on Polleys Square A, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. July 28. Following the ceremony until 4 p.m., the public is invited to attend an open house at the Model Unit at 875 Wyoming St., Suite 106. Attendees will be able to see a demonstration of CenturyLink’s 1 gigabit service.

CenturyLink, Inc., a leading broadband service provider in Montana, today announced that it will offer broadband speeds up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) to residents in the new Polleys Square at Old Sawmill District http://oldsawmilldistrict.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Polleys_Square_A_OSD_v3.pdf . This makes CenturyLink one of the first broadband service providers to offer speeds up to 1 Gbps in Montana.

Not only will residents have access to speeds up to 1 Gbps, but they will be able to instantly connect to these speeds through an online service called CenturyLink ON, which eliminates the need for equipment installation and wait times that are standard when moving into a new residence. Through CenturyLink ON, customers can create an account, pay with a credit or debit card and set up recurring monthly payments for their internet service through a convenient, online portal.

With CenturyLink’s fiber connection up to 1 gigabit, Polleys Square residents will have the speed and bandwidth to connect numerous devices, stream multiple HD movies, and upload and share files and photos, as well as support other uses of broadband, such as online gaming and home automation systems.

"CenturyLink is excited to be a part of the Old Sawmill District, and to offer 1 gig speeds and our latest technology for this historic development," said Jim Schmit, CenturyLink vice president of operations for Montana. "Residents can enjoy the lively urban community of Old Sawmill District while being able to connect to some of the fastest broadband speeds available today."

Polleys Square provides urban living in the heart of Missoula at Old Sawmill District. The architecture is inspired by the rich history of Missoula and the old mill site, Missoula’s historic commerce center where logs were processed and rail cars passed by daily. The Old Sawmill District, an abandoned industrial area, has experienced an exciting rebirth as a developing pedestrian village at the hub of the city trail system and includes the beautiful new Silver Park, neighborhood retail, and easy access to the university and central business district. The name Polleys Square was inspired by the founder of the first lumber mill on the site, Edgar Polleys.

The 1, 2 and 3-bedroom condos feature open floor plans, high ceilings, big windows, great decks, secure entry, secure underground parking garage with electric car charging capability, storage unit, and an elevator.

"Several of the residents at Polleys Square will be working remotely from their home offices so having gigabit fiber service will really enhance their experience," said Ed Wetherbee. "In the very few other places in the country where this type of service has been available, individual homeowners and companies have found it to have tremendous value."
