60 miles through Montana’s Bob Marshall Wilderness in the spring is challenging
June 8, 2016 /
Despite what some glossy national adventure magazines in the past may have proclaimed, a 60-mile backpacking and packrafting adventure on the South Fork Flathead River through the Bob Marshall Wilderness http://www.bmwf.org/ is nowhere close to being a relaxing mountain getaway. Especially in early June, when the spring runoff is high and many trails haven’t yet been cleared of deadfall, the trip is more of a grueling test of how much suffering and danger you can handle.
But the rewards of being in the wild are always plentiful.
