Montana would benefit from better broadband access

The federal government recently updated its annual analysis of rural America, and the facts show tremendous challenges facing small towns and communities.

"Rural areas continue to experience population loss, higher poverty rates, and lower educational attainment than urban areas," begins the report, titled Rural America at a Glance. It describes how rural communities are having a more difficult time than metro areas in overcoming these problems. These findings are important for Montanans, given that our state is dominated by rural communities.
