Fast little cars: Speed Devils place second at Montana Formula 1 competition

What does it take to build a race car that can travel 600 mph?
The young engineers with the Corvallis Speed Devils may be on their way to figuring that one out.
The Corvallis Speed Devils placed second at the Montana Formula 1 competition in Butte recently, qualifying them for national competition.
The "F1 in Schools" program is a multi-discipline challenge for students ages 9 to 19. Student teams around the world design, analyze, build, test and race miniature F1 cars made from balsa wood and propelled by compressed air cartridges.
