Experts project favorable economy for Great Falls, state

The Cascade County economy, like that of Montana, can expect "good if not great growth" led by manufacturing gains in the coming year, experts from the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Development http://www.bber.umt.edu/ said Wednesday.

Challenges to that growth could come from lower agriculture and oil prices and a stronger U.S. dollar that makes Montana products, including tourism visits, more expensive to other countries.

They gave analyses and forecasts of several industry sectors during the bureau’s 41st annual Economic Outlook Seminar. About 90 people attended the half-day event at the Hilton Garden Inn in Great Falls. The team puts on the show in nine Montana cities.
