Back to Basics Summit To Explore New Designs for Housing & Good Co-Ops

The public is invited to attend the Summit on March 29-31, 2016 at Fairmont Hot Springs, Montana. The Back to Basics Summit is an opportunity for community and cooperative leaders to explore how the co-op business model might help resolve today’s rural challenges, with a focus on local food and housing cooperatives. Inspired by speakers with national expertise, Summit attendees will start framing local, co-op based solutions that confront today?s most pressing realities in rural Montana.

This statewide event includes a full day and a half of plenary sessions, break-outs, and networking opportunities. Featured speakers such as Vernita Dore, USDA Deputy under Secretary for Rural Development, will provide innovative examples from the cooperative sector while leaders of local cooperatives and organizations also share their knowledge and experience.

The Back to Basics Summit is being convened by the Montana Cooperative Development Center with support from the Montana Council of Cooperatives and other nonprofit organizations.
