"Education is moving more to online forms, more to word processing and doing more electronically," said Keegan Nicholson.

When he started high school, the Loyola graduate started seeing a need for laptops and knew he could help.

"People bring junk into us, old laptops. I normally would look at them and just toss them, but he says, ‘Oh, I think I can refurbish that and give it to somebody,’" said Missoula Catholic Schools internet technology director Grant Flint.

For three years, Nicholson and a couple other students spent free time after school refurbishing old, unwanted laptops and giving them to students.

He now attends Montana State University and is working to transfer his restoration operation in Missoula to other students.

Nicholson is looking for old computer donations in Bozeman to start distributing them there and hopes, one day, to serve students in cities all across the nation.
