PSC approves $31M rate hike for NW Energy electric customers By Mike Dennison – MTN News

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

NorthWestern Energy’s electric customers in Montana are getting a $31.6 million rate increase, thanks to the regulatory structure and approval of the company’s 2014 purchase of 11 hydroelectric dams.

The state Public Service Commission on Tuesday approved the temporary rate hike, which takes effect now for NorthWestern’s 354,000 electric customers while the PSC reviews it. The commission may adjust the increase later.
