Bozeman’s chance to reimagine high school
This is a unique moment, when the community has a chance to "reimagine" Bozeman High. And it’s happening at a time, said Principal Kevin Conwell, when teaching is changing profoundly.
"The big transformation in education is because of technology," Conwell said. Computers, the Internet and smart devices have shifted schools’ emphasis away from memorizing knowledge, he said, because most knowledge now is something "we can look up on our phone." Now students need more complex thinking skills.
"Students need to be able to use information once they have it — to interpret, analyze, synthesize," he said.
