2015 has been a great year for the American Prairie Reserve – More habitat added and much more….

In October, we held our Annual Gathering with 120 people in attendance — more partners, collaborators, and supporters in attendance than ever before. It was a wonderful time to reflect on how far this project has come thanks to the support from all of you. Looking into 2016, we are excited to keep the momentum going by continuing to add new habitat, build wildlife numbers, increase public access to the Reserve, and enhance visitors’ experiences.

Wild Sky, our wildlife-friendly beef label, is helping us to soften the borders around the Reserve and increase the social (rather than biological) carrying capacity for wildlife. On one of the Wild Sky ranches, camera traps recently caught pictures of a mountain lion and a black bear, species that are just now coming back to this area after a long absence. We look forward to seeing numbers of these and many other species continue to grow.
