Quiet leader needs support to carry out vision for University of Montana

Leadership is a tough profession, and it’s tougher if you lead with quiet dignity because not everyone is aware of the work you do when you don’t waste your time taking credit for it.

University of Montana President Royce Engstrom leads our flagship university with quiet dignity and a fundamental commitment to doing the right thing for students and his community. Over the course of his five years as president, I’ve had the chance to work closely with him under difficult circumstances and have seen him make difficult decisions, not because they were popular but because they needed to be made.
