Are for-profit medical schools right for Montana?

While parties on all sides agree the state needs more practicing doctors, recent announcements from two separate groups looking into building for-profit medical schools have spurred talks about whether it’s the right model for Montana.

Within days, New Mexico-based Burrell Group announced it was planning an osteopathic medical college possibly in Bozeman, while the India-based Manipal Education Americas was looking at Missoula.
