Outreach program helps veterans transition to business world

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Now that they’re done serving their nation, a group of about 30 veterans is learning how to serve their community — by starting a new business.

The Boots to Business Reboot program is put on by Billings’ new Veterans Business Outreach Center http://www.bigskyeconomicdevelopment.org/small-business/vboc/ . The center is affiliated with Big Sky Economic Development http://www.bigskyeconomicdevelopment.org/ and partners with the Small Business Administration to help veterans overcome the obstacles to opening their own business.
