New collaboration aims to provide long-term jobs for Missoula’s homeless

"We focus on, from our end, trying to find folks who have a great skill set, but maybe have been out of the workforce for a little while," Fowler Pehan explained. "And so they’re maybe apprehensive about entering the workforce or are entering a completely different field. We have a lot of folks at our shelter who have maybe done hard manual labor their entire life. And they need to shift into something that’s more sustainable for them."
