Toyota Sees Way Beyond Autonomous Cars, Bets $1 Billion On Artificial Intelligence

Toyota’s pledge of a $50 million investment on joint research centers at MIT and Stanford earlier this year was just the beginning. The Japanese manufacture announced today that is establishing an artificial intelligence research company, Toyota Research Institute (TRI), and is seeding it with a initial investment of $1 billion to be spent over the next five years.
