Proposed doctor college in Montana excites MSU, alarms some

A private investment group is interested in building a for-profit college of osteopathic medicine in Montana and investigating whether to locate in Bozeman in partnership with Montana State University.
New Mexican entrepreneur Daniel Burrell and his family put up $85 million in 2014 to build the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, set to open next year, in a partnership with New Mexico State University. Now the Burrells are conducting a feasibility study for a similar but separate college somewhere in Montana, Joanie Griffin, spokesperson for the Burrell family, confirmed Tuesday.
