MSU Optical Technology Center wins economic development award

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Montana State University’s Optical Technology Center has won an award for its role in growing the state’s high-tech laser and optics industry.

The center, called OpTeC, won the "talent development" award from the University Economic Development Association. The award recognizes work to forge partnerships between universities and industry to meet workforce needs.
