Headframe Spirits Manufacturing (HSM) is a business unit of Headframe Spirits engaged in the
design and manufacturing of standard and custom design continuous flow ethanol distillation
systems. In addition to distillation equipment manufacturing, Co-Packaging operations are also
carried out within the HSM business unit.

— Manufacturing Technician Position Description—

At HSM, Manufacturing Technicians support both the production and maintenance needs of all
Headframe Spirit’s operations and facilities, as well as the needs of customers who purchase our
products. These responsibilities require a superior understanding of mechanical and electrical
fundamentals, and a sound working knowledge of manufacturing and chemical/thermal
processes, instruments and controls.

Essential Position Functions

* Fabrication of various system components in accordance with engineering direction/
documentation/drawings, using industry standard, good manufacturing practices.

* Welding of carbon and stainless steel system components.

* Completion of sub-assemblies and final system assemblies as assigned.

* Integration of instruments and electrical control systems as assigned.

* Under engineering direction, conduct system integrity and operational testing.

* Installation of production equipment at customer sites.

* Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures of production
machines/equipment in a timely manner.

* Support Maintenance/Repair of all facilities and perform routine and preventative
maintenance (PM’s) as directed.

* Construct packaging; pallets, boxes, crates.

* Maintain a safe, uncluttered work environment and utilize/incorporate kaizen and lean
manufacturing practices/principles where applicable.

* Maintain knowledge of, and apply at all times, safe work place practices including but not
limited to confined space entries, energized equipment and Lock-Out Tag-Out
procedures.

* Ability to lift and carry products/equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

* A strong focus on safety for self, co-workers and customers.
Qualifications/Education/Experience

* A 2-year technical degree is desired with a minimum 2-5 years experience in a related
production, manufacturing or maintenance technician role.

* A solid understanding of mechanical fundamentals is required, and a similar
understanding of electrical fundamentals is desired.

* Metal fabrication experience, with an emphasis on stainless steel piping.

* Stainless steel welding ability/experience compliant with food and beverage industry
standards, and/or the ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code

* A demonstrated ability to work effectively from engineering drawings, piping isometrics,
electrical schematics and Piping and Instrument diagrams.

* A working knowledge of layout methods and shop math.

* Experience with 110/220/480V wiring is desired.

* Working knowledge of the operation and function of electrical components such as
relays, servo drives, PLC’s, stepper motors, fuses, capacitors, and solenoids is desired.

* Proficient with common hand tools and metal fabrication equipment; saws, grinders,
drills, etc.

* Proficient with computers and common business software, Word, Excel, etc.

In addition to the specific skills listed, this position requires a highly disciplined problem solver
with a strong work ethic that can function effectively in either a team environment or on their own.
Manufacturing Technicians report to the Manufacturing Supervisor. This is a 40-hour/week, fulltime
position.

It should be noted that the functions and responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive of what
may be expected from the individual holding a Manufacturing Technician position. Headframe
Spirit’s employees may, from time to time, be called upon to help out in areas that may lie outside
of those described by the formal job description. It is expected that in such circumstances the
employee execute the assigned tasks with the necessary safety, enthusiasm and attention to
detail.
