In praise of traffic roundabouts

The US has 90 roundabouts for every 100,000 miles of roadway compared with 10,200 in the UK and 4,900 in France, apparently because US motorists find the circles too confusing. That’s a problem, writes Zachary Crockett: Traffic circles have been proven to ease congestion, reduce accidents and emissions, and save thousands of dollars a year in traffic-light costs.
