Treasure State Internet’s grant proposal to supply fiber Internet to Radersburg denied over technicality

Helena-based Treasure State Internet http://www.treasurestateinternet.com/ was recently denied a $1.7 million United States Department of Agriculture development grant over a technicality the company is disputing.

The grant would have been used to install high-speed fiber Internet to Radersburg and bring it closer to every community between there and Helena.

Treasure State’s application was postmarked by the deadline of Feb. 17, but not shipped until Feb. 18. The federal agency sent word last week that Treasure State’s application was denied because it missed the deadline.

"So that kind of just lead to this whole contention," Treasure State CEO Eric Fulton said.
