Missoula’s Sunburst Sensors succeeds in Hawaii, awaits decision on XPRIZE awards

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

The SAMI proved its mettle.

The instrument dropped 3,000 meters into the Pacific Ocean, measured pH and surfaced all in one piece.

The journey marked the final phase of an international competition that puts Sunburst Sensors http://www.sunburstsensors.com/ of Missoula in line for a couple of $750,000 prizes, according to the XPRIZE.

XPRIZE is an organization working to solve "the world’s grand challenges" by inspiring "brilliant innovators" and stimulating research and development.
