Conservation groups launch Smith River social media campaign

Two Montana conservation groups this week launched a social media campaign http://www.smithriverwatch.org/ to protect the Smith River, which they say is threatened by a proposed copper mine.

Montana Trout Unlimited and the Montana Environmental Information Center released a nearly 4-minute video titled, "Smith River Memories," http://www.matr.net/article-66538.html which features 18 Montanans talking about their times floating the Smith River. The list of names included outdoors writers and Missoula artist Monte Dolack.

"We’re just reminding people what’s at risk," said Montana Trout Unlimited Executive Director Bruce Farling.
