Porkcast: lawmaker hopes new website improves government transparency in Montana
June 3, 2015 /
Nicholas Schwaderer has been guzzling energy drinks, eating ramen noodles and listening to the soundtrack of "The Social Network" film in his basement apartment for the last week while developing a website to shed light on government spending.
Schwaderer, 26, a Republican state lawmaker from Superior, created http://www.Porkcast.com to let the public sign up for email alerts whenever a state employee uses a credit card at Starbucks or writes a check to Staples. It draws the information from the state’s checkbook, which was put online in 2013.
