Lawmakers address structurally deficient bridges – Russell St. Bridge in Missoula ranks a 4 out of 10. Meeting on May 27.

The 2014 federal report on bridges by state and county http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/nbi/no10/county14b.cfm#mt indicates that 323 bridges are structurally deficient in Montana.

There are 14 in Missoula County, including the Russell Street Bridge in Missoula.

A national think tank called Transportation For America rated the deck of the Russell Street Bridge a 4, in a soundness scale of 1 through 10.

The Montana Department of Transportation and the city of Missoula are looking at possible designs for replacing the Russell Street Bridge, as part of a 1.5-mile renovation project for Russell Street.
