MakerCon helps modern-day inventors turn ideas into products

"We want to create a supportive ecosystem so we can all learn from each other," said Dale Dougherty, founder and executive chairman of Maker Media, which sponsors MakerCon for tinkerers, creators, hackers and other DIYers. Many such makers are "accidental entrepreneurs," he said; they didn’t set out to do something commercial but just followed their passions.
