Montana Economic Developers Association talks about infrastructure

It’s barely been a week since Senate Bill 416 died at the end of the 2015 Montana Legislature, but at the Montana Economic Developers Association conference on Monday, infrastructure was a key issue.

The infrastructure mini-summit began with Montana’s report card from the American Society of Civil Engineers. Montana earned a grade of C- when it came to infrastructure in November 2014, with their lowest category score being D- for schools. 2014 Report Card for Montana’s Infrastructure http://www.matr.net/article-64982.html

During the conference on Monday, there were two panels for civil engineers and economic developers to discuss the need to improve infrastructure, saying that maintaining it is less expensive than replacing. While some people admit they were disappointed SB 416 didn’t pass, presenter and Interstate Engineering senior project manager Shoots Veis says it’s started some recent conversations.
